Restore Dinky 25A

by Mike Foote, a regular contributor to diecast.plus.com.

This is a restoration of a Dinky 25A wagon

This model was bought by me around 1948 and as a child I decided to repaint it. I have now restored it to the original colour that was visible beneath the green repaint. I have used an original Dinky colour No.32 grey. The headlamps were broken off, so a new radiator casting was obtained. The axles were destroyed during removal so I have made new ones and crimped them in a special tool that I have made for the purpose. The paint finishes are all sprayed with a small Badger spray gun and dried in a home made heated box at about 40deg C.
